A control group was created consisting of 68 students from the University of Arizona who were not mediums or psychics. In addition, open-ended questions were also created regarding the deceased relatives. Schwartz designed a control for the experiment by creating a list of yes or no questions regarding Patricia Price’s deceased relatives. It took ten hours to do the scoring.Īfter the sessions with the mediums were completed, Dr. The subject, Pat Price, was asked to score the accuracy of each item of information provided on the documents. As such, the subject did not know whose results she was scoring. The documents did not reveal which medium produced the information for each document. She was seated in one of two chairs that were separated by a white, opaque, cloth screen.
